I have a secret confession to make. I (secretly) hate New Years Resolutions.

I mean does anyone really truly love like really, truly love their New Years Resolutions every single year?!
Call me Ms. Debbie Downer, but seriously, doesn't it feel like we're turning a slightly stressful world into a full-blown pressure cooker?!
Why do we willingly sign up for the "Become a Whole New Person" package deal every year and subject ourselves to lose weight, change our look, make more money, yada yada?
If you ask me, it's too much pressure, darling.
We already have too much on our plate! Careers, kids, extracurricular activities, household chores...the list goes on!
Instead of resolutions, can we just switch to gratifications? Who needs resolutions when you can have gratifications? It's like trading in a to-do list for a ta-da list – much more satisfying and no pressure involved!
So hear me out on this one.
Instead of you saying, "This year, my New Years Resolution is to lose weight," you say, "This year, I am happy to be where I am in life. I am happy with my body, and I want to be a healthy version of me. I will focus on eating nutritious foods and exercising, but I will not get mad at myself if I skip a day or decide to tear into some ice cream after a crazy long day at work." See? This whole way of thinking is much better.
The next time you're feeling down about botching your New Year's Resolutions, just give yourself a pat on the back. You, my fabulous friend, conquered the day like a superhero. Your inner rockstar woke up, fed the kids, the dogs, the cats, and ensured the house wasn't engulfed in flames. Now, that's what we call being a true boss of all things! High five, superhero! 🚀👊
